Now I know why “Little Women” was always “out”.

I’m involved in a national library campaign defending UK public libraries called Voices For The Library. I wondered if you’d consider contributing something to our site? We are always looking for stories about why people value their public library. I’ve come across so many blogs today and yesterday that are defending public libraries, that it’s been so encouraging and positive. Please feel free to have a look at our site. http://www.voicesforthelibrary.org.uk
Thank you – Gary

Let me know if there are any you know about not on the list.

I would renew The Swish of the Curtain every week for much the same reason. Still remember the horror when the librarian told me it had been reserved by someone else and I had to give it back.

I love our Library over here, although I did prefer the previous one which was much more ornate and atmospheric and where I used to visit when I was small. The choices seem endless and there’s a certain thrill of having all those books on hand to choose from.

Met a woman at the bus stop yesterday who was reading a story on her Kindle.

Definitely not the same thing as holding a book.
